He had some difficulty finding the correct terminal pair in the apartment's telephone closet, so he put his test set on each pair he suspected was the right one, dialed a number (I tried to look over his shoulder, but I couldn't quite see :-) ), and a synthesized voice would tell him the phone number of the line he was on. Does anyone know if this capability is common to all CO's (I'd never seen it before)? --Pat.
