This usually ends up clobbering the buffer in some weird manner. How can I tell how much memory I have left (it isn't DATA-BYTES-FREE; that never seems to change)? Is there a nice way to recover from this error if I do run into it? And finally, is there a way to increase the amount of memory available to my Emacs session? In case it's relevant, I'm running Gnu Emacs 18.30 on an 4 Meg Apollo DN3000 workstation, and there's plenty of disk space on the node. Thanx... Ashwin Ram.
