If the new newsgroup is started on USENET, as these names imply, then many of the potential users of this group would be excluded. There are many UNIX hosts that are not part of the USENET news system. In addition, all MILNET hosts that use other operating systems are also not members of USENET. I recommend that the new newsgroup be started on MILNET and that it be similar to info-vlsi. A good name would be info-silicon-compilers.
