    This sounds like the same problem that the early Compaq had (back when
there was only one Compaq).  The debounce circitry is really screwed up,
not to mention the rest of they keyboard (which is like typing on mashed
potatoes).  My only suggestion is to try and hook up a third-party keyboard.
I've got directions on how to do it to the old Compaq's somewhere, if that
could be any help.
