Message-ID: <6361@ism780c.UUCP> Date: Wed, 20-May-87 16:18:17 EDT Article-I.D.: ism780c.6361 Posted: Wed May 20 16:18:17 1987 Date-Received: Sat, 23-May-87 09:49:41 EDT Reply-To: tim@ism780c.UUCP (Tim Smith) Organization: Interactive Systems Corp., Santa Monica CA Lines: 13 The sources in the book say that it is OK for private individuals to give copies of Minix to other private individuals, and that commercial redistribution requires permission from Prentice-Hall. If one person buys the floppies, and he gives copies to N people, who each pay him 80/(N+1) dollars, is this considered commercial redistribution? In other words, if I and a few other people want to split the cost of Minix, is this OK? Does it depend on N? -- Tim Smith "Froh wie seine Sonnen fliegen sdcrdcf!ism780c!tim Durch des Himmels praecht'gen Plan, Laufet, Brueder, eure Bahn, Freudig wie ein Held zum Siegen"
