Both of the packages must be menu driven and as much 'mac' like as possible (pull-down menu's, several windows etc). It must be relatively easy for Designers (not computer experts) to put their designs into the computer, but it is acceptable to have a technician (who is better trained) detail the designs further. Additional capabilities: PC board design: 1. schematic capture 2. schematic -> netlist 3. netlist (schematic) -> board layout automagically 4. along with above, autorouting and autoplacement 5. autoverification that layed out board matches schematic 6. gerber photoplotter style output 7. cost in the $15-20K range (but send info anyway) Mechanical design: 1. full drafting and dimensioning 2. 3d modelling 3. shaded color capability 4. NC control package for 5 axis numerical mills. 5. Costs in the $15-20K range (but send any info anyway) Thanks, Ed Cetron computer services manager center for engineering design univ of utah cetron@cs.utah.edu cetron@utahcca.bitnet
