Allbery) Distribution: na Organization: Cleveland Public Access UN*X, Cleveland, Oh Lines: 34 Approved: allbery@ncoast.UUCP The recent posting of SWING for VMS has raised the question of archiving. This sources group is not supposed to be archived, but as long as it is the home for large sources that don't fit anywhere else, those sources should be archived. I will perform UUCP and tape (1600bpi tar or cpio -- WARNING, they will be in 68000 format, which is byte-swapped with respect to VAX) archiving. (I know, a *big* help for VMSers, sigh....) If some site(s) out there would like to archive sources, please contact me at one of the following addresses: ..cbatt!cwruecmp!ncoast!sources-misc-request ..ames!necntc!ncoast!sources-misc-request necntc!ncoast!sources-misc-request@harvard.HARVARD.EDU -or- necntc!ncoast!sources-misc-request@eddie.MIT.EDU It would probably be best to split these by machine type, so a (preferably VMS) site should do VMS archiving, and other kinds of sources will (if necessary) be archived by other sites, so that the sites doing the archiving can create more useful archives (VMS BACKUP tapes, for example). Note that I will try to create VMS DCL self-unpacking archives (DCLar's?) of any VMS sources I get, so they will be marginally more useful. Please specify how you want something from the archive; I will occasionally post an archive list. ++Brando -- Copyright (C) 1987 Brandon S.
