The NEC drives have a small, in fact *very* small pot on the bottom circuit board in front next to the flywheel that can be used to tweak the speed. Note that the pot is normally of no benefit to the end user. I've heard that the rpm of the Panasonic drives is crystal controlled, and thus not adjustable at all. Perhaps, an industrious programmer could rapidly select and de-select the drive motor to implement virtual speed control via pulse width modulation. The speed would vary depending on the floppy, however. I guess you'd have to stay awary from those sticky made in USA black disks (grin). --Bill (wtm@neoucom.UUCP)
