I reworked my RAMdisk to be 100K smaller and the problem was solved, but on occasion I find that when compiling something _really_ big, I need to do it entirely from floppy with no RAMdisk at all. BTW, I'm running a 1040 with only the built-in floppy. If you are running on an unmodified 520, try upping the memory to 1 meg. Or, a cheaper solution would be to break your program down into smaller piece, compile 'em separately, and link 'em together when done.
