As far as I know, you are out of luck with the AT&T mouse.  It is a funny
situation where Microsoft is one of the few companies that can not write
code compatable with all "Microsoft Compat Mice".  If they get enough 
complaints, perhaps the upgrade may fix the situation. (As it did with their
windows upgrade.)
