Windows is FAR from being a widely-used standard. Correct. Windows, unlike many other real standards, is not a SPECIFICATION but an IMPLEMENTATION. The difference is critical. There is only one source for Windows. And, if the rumor is true that Microsoft pays Apple a royalty for the use of windows and icons, there may never BE another software package that has the same interface.
