Uencoded the file is 33407 bytes long. Uudecoded the file is 23040 bytes long. Unarced, there are 10 files totaling 59136 bytes. There was a significant saving by arcing the file and it also required much less effort to post it. I downloaded the file and checked to see how it was arced. The file was either arced with SEAware's ARC or with PKARC in ARC compatible mode. How about downloading ARC or PKARC (pkarc is better but that's another story). There are also versions of ARC that will run under UNIX. If you're a UNIX site, maybe you have it. I think the msdos versions of ARC and PKARC are still in comp.sys.ibm.pc. If not, look in comp.sources.misc. If you still can't find them then I'll mail you a copy. Since this is comp.sys.IBM.PC, it is not unreasonable to post programs or sources using an MSDOS/PCDOS archive program which everyone has access to. If this were comp.UNIX or comp.TRS80 comp.APPLE then it might be unreasonable. Note: If your wondering about the compatiblity of these programs, there was a big discussion on this subject about a month ago. PKX34A20 can read any archives created by ARC520 or earlier versions of ARC. There is a switch in PKX34A20 which allows it to create archives that are 100% readable by ARC5**. There is also a patch to make PKX34A20 to always make compatible archives. I believe these are the only two archive programs around (use .arc extention). There are various library and squeese programs still floating around (use .lbr, .squ, etc extentions) but they have not been in use since ARC was created. jvc@mirror.TMC.COM
