The Manx "vi" clone is not "ex"-based, and it can't handle very large files (my copy, running on an AT clone, truncates after about 46K). It has some annoying behaviors, such as starting a new line with the same indent as the previous line, and of course only a small subset of the "ex" commands is available. The "vi" that comes with MKS looks and feels just like the real thing, as far as I can tell; the Toolkit is worth its price for the editor alone.
