Microsoft has already announced that Word 3.01 will be made available as a
free upgrade to everyone who is a registered user of 3.0, and for the same
terms as Word 3.0 for the rest of the world.  They know they blew the QA,
and they're eating the results.  Can't be more fair than that.  The
timeframe I've heard is June, but I don't know how firm it is -- I do get
the feeling from talking to them that they won't ship it until they are
satisfied about the quality.
