I've seen several hard disks that look interesting (e.g., MacBottom) but I haven't been satisfied with the provisions for backups (until now -- see below). My requirements: 1. Capacity >= 20 MB 2. Integrated cartridge tape (no floppy or cassette backups) 3. Tape must hold entire disk 4. Price <$2.5K for 40 MB, <$1.5K for 20 MB, etc. 5. Software: SCSI driver, formatter, etc.; backup/restore by volume, file, & incremental 6. Unit must fit under Mac or lie flat on table (I don't trust myself around drives that stand on edge). The closest thing I've seen is the Magnet 40/40 by Mirror Tech- nologies (40 MB hard disk w/40 MB integral tape). The best price I've seen is $2295 from Tussey Computer Products (with whom I've dealt satisfactorily in the past). Does anyone on the net have any experience with/comments on the 40/40? How about comments on Mirror products in general? I'd also welcome suggestions about alternative products that meet my requirements (but I'm not aware of any). Please reply via e-mail; if there's sufficient info & interest, I'll summarize to the net. Thanks. Dave Bursik/{..cbosgd!db | ..ihnp4!cbnds!djb}
