Message-ID: <443@btnix.axion.bt.co.uk> Date: Wed, 20-May-87 17:48:30 EDT Article-I.D.: btnix.443 Posted: Wed May 20 17:48:30 1987 Date-Received: Sat, 23-May-87 08:31:32 EDT Organization: British Telecom Research Labs, Martlesham Heath, IPSWICH, UK Lines: 24 We have recently purchased the AlisaTalk fileserver package together with four Kinetics FastPath bridges with the intention of linking together our four Appletalk networks into one big one, and providing fileserver capability from our Vax11/785. The problem is that one of our networks has a Symbiotics Diskserver on it and the AlisaTalk stuff doesn't seem to like it. When the diskserver is turned off, everthing works fine; when the diskserver is on, we lose VMS volumes, the printer spooler falls over and I get fed up with the phone ringing. The question is: has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything we can do about it? Is it likely that the Symbiotics is not complying with Appletalk protocols? Is it likely that AlisaTalk is not complying with Appletalk? Any help, sympathy etc welcome Nigel Titley -- Email: NTitley@axion.bt.co.uk Snail: British Telecom Research labs, Martlesham Heath, Ipswich, Suffolk, UK
