Message-ID: <174@ttrdd.UUCP> Date: Tue, 26-May-87 14:10:35 EDT Article-I.D.: ttrdd.174 Posted: Tue May 26 14:10:35 1987 Date-Received: Wed, 27-May-87 05:05:55 EDT Organization: AT&T, Skokie, IL Lines: 23 Keywords: Hardware, Firmware, FA0000, disassembly Xref: utgpu comp.sys.mac:3157 comp.sys.misc:582 comp.sys.m68k:467 I'm looking for information about the hardware and/or firmware configuration of the lisa. I have the uncompleted, and poor, hardware manual that was given out by apple to all who asked for it, but there's some vital information missing. I have a binary license of Unisoft's implementation of Unix system V running on my lisa, and want to add parallel printer support. The way I'm trying to get there is to disassemble the existing corvus disk- drive driver, and use the information gleaned from that to write my simple printer driver. Then, I'll use /dev/mem to overwrite the corvus driver before I print. I was doing fine, until I ran into an access (... many accesses) to 0xFA0000. This is apparently the base address of a bank of hardware control registers, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the aforementioned manual that I have. Any help, knowledge, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated... I wonder if there are any lisa/system V users out there who'd like to form a users group? Thomas Mellman ...ihnp4!ttrdc!ttrdd!mellman
