Lines: 42 I always liked my startup desktop to stay. I got along for ages with the original Startup Desk init, but could never get it to work as an INIT file. Anyone know anything about that? So along came Backdrop. Worked as an INIT file, for a while. Unpredictable outages. Especially with system 4.1. Along came Randomizer. Worked fine all the time. But I run from floppies and cannot afford multiple screen files. So I was Resediting Randomizer and found ... Backdrop! (Actually the documentation for Randomizer said it contained Backdrop, but it hadn't made an impression) So why did it work as Randomizer, and crash as Backdrop? I'll give you a hint. I now use the original Backdrop INIT file, but it is named 'The Backdrop'. And it is the last (alphabetically) INIT file in my system folder. I'm thinking about renaming it 'Z Backdrop' to make sure it stays last. Other INIT files I have: "A few favorite inits" ( a single file with several INITS in it) containing at the moment SFScrollinit and a clock. "Beep INIT (Mac II)" -- changes the beep to a chime. "Key Pad" -| |- from Fkey manager package. "Pop Keys" -| and of course, "Z Backdrop". -- I hate mud. I like blue clean flowing water. LA sucks water. That doesn't mean I like LA. (Actually, I like a lot of things in LA) + Jim Budler Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (408) 749-5806 + + Compuserve: 72415,1200; Delphi: JIMBUDLER; Usenet: jimb@amdcad.AMD.COM +
