I would find myself a good, large-sized copy house. Sit down with them and explain your plans. A smart rep -- not some bozo behind the counter who sticks pages in the feeder -- can help you analyze and balance the trade-offs. Large copy-houses also provide offset (part of my definition of large :-) printing, collating, etc. In general, I think offset wins when # copies >> # pages or if # copies is fairly large -- a couple of hundred. It seems to need that kind of balance to average out the high set-up effort needed for each offset "signature" (clump of four pages). [Okay, it's not really a signature; I just don't remember the right term.] On the other hand, if you're willing to hand-insert special sheets, you can get full-color copies with photostat. Also, I've seen pretty reasonable results from both the Kodak and Xerox "thesis-quality" copiers by just placing a half-tone screen on the glass with your contone or photograph. /rich $alz ---------------------------------------- Submissions to: desktop%plaid@sun.com -OR- sun!plaid!desktop Administrivia to: desktop-request%plaid@sun.com -OR- sun!plaid@desktop-request Paths: {ihnp4,decwrl,hplabs,seismo,ucbvax}!sun Chuq Von Rospach chuq@sun.COM [I don't read flames] There is no statute of limitations on stupidity
