    I had some interface a number of months ago with a local 
services business... they sold services in varying degrees to 
whomever walked through the door.  They have networked Ventura 
Publisher with 3COM and AT clones and were using an HP Plus.  I 
brought a VP document in to them to print and it took about 45 
minutes to format the darn thing.  A while later I brought the 
same document in to them and it took less than 1 minute to print.  
The reason for the big difference was that they had since 
installed a JLaser card.  Needless to say, when I can afford a 
laser printer of my own, unless technology changes a lot in the 
meantime, I'll also be installing a JLaser card to make life more 
bearable.
