It seems that if a NeWS connection dies when it has an overlay canvas that has something written in it, the server dies. To show this try the following (in psh or as appropriate) : framebuffer createoverlay setcanvas 0 0 moveto 0 400 lineto 400 400 lineto 400 0 lineto closepath fill %erasepage quit If the erasepage is uncommented, things seem fine. This is most annoying when something that you are trying to debug writes in the overlay canvas then dies - everything dies!
