Almost, but not quite. With SPOOLNEWS (which requires news 2.11, incidentally), unbatching and installing of news will be postponed, but uncompression will be done right away, if your feeds are sending you files which are totally compressed (2.10.*-style). If you're on a system with limited memory, you may not want compress running during the day either. We use a "cunbatch" which is basically just a "cat".
