Somebody told me that your body isn't doing much else when asleep so has plenty of time for digestion, but I seem to recall someone saying something to the contrary - in particular; If you take a pill or drug of some sort just before going to sleep it doesn't get digested, and if you then take another one in the morning along with some food or water, you suddenly get double the dose.
