This software permits UNIX systems to access the Cray using TCP/IP over the campus Ethernet. This new software offers capabilities similar to those presently enjoyed by remote DECnet nodes running VMS, such as direct job submission, job status reporting, and dataset FETCH and DISPOSE. The use of 'ftp' and 'rlogin' would no longer be necessary. CLSC and Cray would like to include as many systems as feasible in this test. Managers of UNIX systems which have Cray users and which are connected to the University of Toronto campus network are invited to contact Dr. Edmund West (yedwest@utorscs.bitnet; yedwest@utgpu; 978-4085) to discuss this possibility.
