This combination gives us 9600-baud full-duplex asynchronous dialup over ordinary phone lines. I am typing this message to you over a such a modem. People in our lab have 9600-baud home terminals. We don't use them for uucp because none of our uucp partners have them, but they work beautifully and reliably and have done so for years. Brian
