Does anyone know if the newly announced V-series modem enhacer
will work with Hayes-compatibles (e.g., Multitech 224E)?  This is
the box that gives you error correction ala their new V-series modems
on the older Hayes models.  Why can't they just use MNP like everyone
else????

I called Hayes and spoke to a non-technical customer support person.
I was told that they only tested it to work with Hayes products and
won't say if it works with compatibles or not.  Foolish -- I'm sure
plenty of people (such as myself) would dig into their pockets just to
have the compatibility.
