Is GNU Emacs a CPU hog?  Is a Ferarri a gas hog?

The fact that it doesn't draw each page when you hit multiple page
keys is not a major win in efficiency since most people don't move
great distances through a file by paging.  It is, however a major win
in responsiveness.
