I've been asked by a friend to recommend what equipment and/or funding he should ask for. The lab is apparently to be used to supply instructional needs for a one-quarter introductory course in computer graphics, and to provide a place and equipment for people who want to go on from that start to do independent research. There is apparently no organized program in computer graphics at that school. I know what I'd recommend. If you can send me additional suggestions, I'll gather the whole mess up and post it here (if response warrants). Brian Kantor UCSD Computer Graphics Lab B-028, La Jolla, CA 92093
