I'm not a UUCP-Project member, but I have and use SMAIL 2.3 (the latest version). SMAIL does give @ first precedence in accordance with RFC 822. I am certain of this. Not long ago I complained bitterly in this forum that SMAIL did not handle @ and ! precedences correctly, and was promptly corrected by Mark Horton. The problem was that I had an old version of SMAIL, which did have this bug. So if you are running SMAIL or installing it for the first time, make sure you have version 2.3. kyle jones old dominion university, norfolk, va
