We've installed an TU81+ since short to support 6250 bpi as well (at last) What happens now is when we try to backup our ra81 disks with 6250 bpi the backup starts normally and finishes the first tape and asking to enter yes for the next one. Now it comes (this doesn't happens all the time) when the second tapes starts it gives after a few seconds the message: %backup-e-labelerr, error in tape label processing on mua0:[]xxxxx -system-f-datalost, data lost Don't tell me the tape is dirty or whatever because that's not true, We've even used new tapes or cut a piece of it,that's not the reason. Dec engineering couldn't solve the problem yet,we had this problem one and a half month now. We can make backups anyhow because when one keeps trying it works sometimes.. When this happens in a standalone backup, for backup our system disk the possibilitys to give the options restart or quit don't even work anymore, it just keeps saying restart or quit. The only way to get out this is to boot the system again, when this happens undrr a normal backup you only can give the option quit, restart won't work because the command itself won't be executed.... Come on you VAX-Specialists give me a hint..........:-) Guido Rovers
