Thank you to everyone who answered my question about what number is
returned by $GETSYI("CPU") for various VAX models.

Gerard Newman sent a complete answer and some program fragments for
determining everything you could want to know about differentiating
among CPU types with a program and that message went to info-vax
as well so I think anyone else who was interested in this issue
saw that answer too.
