Every AI type product we have run on our VAXen (780s & 785s) has been a resource pig. We have Franz Lisp, Prolog, and just tossed out Themis. I can only say that allit takes is one or two users on those products and the machine is useless for any other processing. They require huge working sets, eat virtual pages like they were candy and complain bitterly if they don't get all the resources they want. My personal opinion is don't use them on a VAX, they should wait for a faster parallel machine. Hackito, ergo sum.
