IF you have Relational Technology's INGRES and its ABF (Application-By-Forms) there is an undocumented routine called `abexesys' which does exactly what you are asking for (ie. abexesys("show users"); ). Unfortunately it probably would be illegal for me to give it away. However if RTI was able to do it no doubt there are many knowledgeable VMS people out there who can help the non-INGRES users out.
