The solution I'd adopted was to print two burst pages at the start of a job (and no file separator pages). The appropriate qualifier for the START or INIT/QUEUE commands is "/SEPARATE=(BURST,FLAG)". With this, every job is preceeded by two flag pages. One of these pages can be discarded, if necessary, to result in a job with a flag page facing up! = Frank J.
