I thought that the OSI Session layer was derived from the CCITT Teletex
protocol (S or T.62). I believe most of the OSI Session-layer operations are
just Teletex session functions couched in more abstract terms, ie.
"activities" correspond to Teletex "documents", OSI synch points correspond
to pages, etc.

Not that this makes it a good idea or anything...
