I recommend it to anyone and everyone who comes knocking at my door wanting an introduction to LU-6.2. The latter (the "FAP Manual") is pretty heavy reading, and tells you more than you ever wanted to know about the workings of the protocols. I have to admit that I haven't read through this tome since about 1983 (before it was available externally), although the ratio of prose to pseudo-code has increased since then, so things have to have improved. There is some general, high-level background on SNA (including a bit on LU-6.2) in the following two publications: GC30-3072: SNA Concepts and Products GC30-3073: SNA Technical Overview All of these are available through your local IBM Branch Office. Hope this helps... John A. Pershing Jr. IBM T.J. Watson Research Center Yorktown Heights, New York
