I spoke to my local dealer here in Berkeley, seems that before the Comdex
show there was a Commodore Dealer meeting.  They put up all these dealers
in a hotel in Atlanta (or at least in the distant suburbs) and told them
what was up.  So  He tells me that the deals is this:

the 2000 is going to list for $2495  and that if you bring in your old
1000 and $1000 you can get a 2000 (since 1+1=2).  The list for the 2000
is much higher than before (when we heard $1500).  Two things happened,
one: they looked around and saw that their machine did all sorts of special
things that others didn't and decided it was worth more.  The other thing 
that happened was that they decided to include the bridge card in the list
price (what else are the slots good for?).  So figure that you are getting
the virgin 2000 for just under $2000.
