Snapshot does what I thought it should. The catch is that one must SELECT everything whose position one wants recorded. One can do this using extended (shift Left mouse) select. I did this in a windo with about 100 assorted icons. It works, but is rather slow. P.S. I think that if you are going to put a help button on the computer, you should also put in some minimal context sensitive help. P.S.2 When is a between windows, within windows cut/paste buffer going to be implemented. I realise that there is a clipboard device. Why isn't it ever used? Even a simple minded, X type text cut/paste buffer would be nice. P.S.3 Finally got round to starting to play with programming the beast. One of these days I might even contribute something useful to the net. -- ==================================================================== Michael.Witbrock@f.gp.cs.cmu.edu US Mail: Michael Witbrock Dept of Computer Science Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh PA 15213-6890 USA Telephone : (412) 268 3621 [Office] (412) 681 3806 [Home] ======================================================== I took out the cute quotes.
