Summary: How does one write one?

Could people "in the know" please e-mail me information about creating
device drivers.  I have looked through Lee Erickson's demo device
driver as well as Scott Turner's SCSI device driver.  There are enough
similarities that I was able to learn a lot from them, but also some
differences that confused me.  I would prefer to find a "How to create
your own device driver" type document somewhere (maybe I just haven't
looked hard enough), but even bits and scraps would be helpful.  I
will summarize (probably in the form of my own driver,) when I know
enough.  Thanks in advance.
