If you are thinking about getting Live! and happen also to be in the market
for a new vcr you have new possibilities. The new NEC vhs vcr (5000u?) has
built-in digital still store, in color, available now. This vcr stills
incoming video or tape playback. Color is fairly good ( from what I hear about
Live this vcr probably has better image quality), though there seems to be a
bit of (digital) noise in the still. Run this still output thru a cheap
industrial RGB demod to DigiView instead of Live! (better quality? You be the
judge). Price for the vcr is about $1000.00.  - Martin Brown -
