He boots the game all the time using workbench 1.2 which is installed on his hard disk; you just have to make sure you copy the special font file that the game uses; it's mixed in with all the other workbench stuff on your *original* game disk. The menus are NOT broken; your other workbench doesn't have the font file required by the game. The protection scheme prevents people like you from copying the game with the CLI copy command. Glad to see it's doing its job correctly (heh heh)!
