Sorry folks, but I happen to LIKE having my operating system in easily modifiable RAM rather then fixed permanently in ROM. (Send your opinions/objectoins about this to me, please, not to the net in general). Anyway, the biggest thing that is keeping me from looking at these fancy A1000->A2000 upgrades (other than lack of funds, which can be remedied,) is the fact that I will be stuck with 1.2 in ROM. I personally have no complaints with 1.2 now, but there has been enough discussion of "suggestions for 1.3" that I could possibly want the upgrade in the future sometime. I am almost afraid to ask how much Commodore would charge for the replacement of the ROMs when they have already charged $15 for a simple update of the existing operating system :-). Commodore, any comments? I would have mailed this to you directly, but I think others might be interested in this as well. Also, I can't seem to get mail to you. ______________________________________________ | | | Patrick Doyle wpd@ATHENA.MIT.EDU | | ...{decvax,ihnp4}!mit-eddie!mit-athena!wpd | |____________________________________________|
