I have not tried EXECing it under DOS 3.3, but I suspect it would cause the kind of crash you describe if I did so - it IS a ProDOS program. I downloaded my copy from INFO-APPLE on Bitnet apparently without ASCII/EBCDIC translation problems, but between the Arpa-BITNET gateway and the ASCII to EBCDIC (perhaps to ASCII again translation if you use a VAX), gremlins may have been introduced into your version. At least some copies of the program get delivered with "echoed" lines. I've tried EXECing one of those and did not have a problem with a system hang, the program reported an Error (in upper and lowercase which suggests that you do need an upper/lower case capability on your 2+).
