He's trying to print on a Brother HR10 or a IDS 440 printer. Both work fine when used with Pfs:Write or VisiFile. However, when printing from the Apple Works spreadsheet, something is inserting an extra carridge return about every line and 2/3rds (that is, the first line and 2/3 print, then a return, then the last 1/3 of the line, the next line and the first 1/3 of the next line, and a return; with the expected returns in the correct place: --1A-- --1B-- --1C-- --2A-- --2B-- --2C-- --3A-- --3B-- -3C--- --4A-- --4B-- --4C-- --5A-- --5B-- --5C-- etc, etc, etc. My only thought was that somehow the printer driver was inserting returns every n (some constant) characters, thinking that that was the length of a line. I don't know anything about Apple Works, though, so that's only a guess--will someone who knows for sure set me straight? (Please reply directly to me, as I don't usually read this group, or to kevin@xv.mit.edu; as usual, if there's any interest, I'll summarize to the net...) -- Kevin Crowston UUCP: {seismo,ut-sally}!harvard!kevin MIT Sloan School of Management ARPA: kevin@xv.mit.edu or kevin@harvard.arpa
