I use my 7300 quite a bit as a terminal where I call out to remote systems. No problem. I can use the phone manager's terminal emulation mode or use cu from UNIX. Things work great. Now I'm faced with a situation where the remote system I would like to connect to wants me to leave an authorization code, hang up, and it calls back. With a normal terminal connected through a Hayes compatible modem you simply answer the call with "ATA". This puts the modem in its answer mode (as opposed to originate), the line is taken "off hook", the connection is made, and everything is fine. How can I accomplish this with the 7300? If I set it up to automatically answer the phone, it expects the call to be from someone wanting to log in on it. Is there a flag to cu that will cause it just to pick up the phone? Do I still have to tell cu what the speed of the line is (it should know from the originate frequency)? Does anyone out there have experience with a situation like this? All comments welcome and appreciated! Craig V. Johnson John Fluke Mfg. Co. Everett, WA ...fluke!vince
