At that time, any changes you made ]get saved. This may be misleading. File PROCOMM.PRM (containing the parameters) is updated at exit (Alt-X) time, as Bill says. Changes you make during your session are local to that session (that is, lost when you exit), *unless* you have (a) made changes *and* (b) chosen "save changes to disc" on the particular menu. The way Bill put it, you might get the impression you need to change back to your preferred defaults before exiting; in fact, you do not, as long as you have not chosen "save to disc" along the way.
