I am interesting in obtaining one or more packages tht solve equations (differential equations, systems of linear equations etc.) - what packages are available? is a hard disk required? how flexible are they? what is their cost? I would appreciate receiving comments that individuals may have (good and/or bad) directly through e-mail and if sufficient interest exists I will follow-up with a summary. By the way, is it possible to specify an equation and have one of these packages give the normal equations (i.e. least-squares) for one or more parameters in the original equation ? Many thanks in advance. -- {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!utstat!anthony {ihnp4|decvax|utzoo|utcsrgv}!utgpu!utzoo!utstat!anthony
