Has anyone else ever reformatted their hard disks (20 megabytes or under) in 1k clusters? I just did this tonight, and it seems to work just fine. I saved about 6-700k in the process (I'm running a Fido, so I've got lots of files [messages] under the 1k mark). Anyway, it seems that chkdsk can't handle the cluster size. [I suppose I should mention that I'm using DOS 3.1 -- for various reasons]. Has anyone else run into this sort of problem? Are there any patches around? Are there any other areas where I can expect trouble due to the reduced cluster size, or increased FAT size? Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks. -- Brian Campbell decvax!utzoo!dciem!nrcaer!cognos!brianc Cognos Incorporated 3755 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA K1G 3N3 (613) 738-1440
