I am interested in obtaining software that allows me to use my
joystick as an equivalent to a Microsoft Mouse in some way. I have
seen an attempt at this in a thing called PMM (Poor Mans Mouse) but
my system crashes and burns when I try it. I got no documentation
with it either, as well, no source code so I could hack at it.

Any leads would be appreciated.
