I am currently designing a circuit in which I will be using an 8031
microcontroller (call it 'embedded controller' if you like).

Since I am a student I don't relish the thought of dishing out $750 (US!!)
for a cross- assembler (to run on a PC) from intel.

If anyone happens to know of any public domain or more reasonably priced
assemblers around please drop me a line.

(the 8031, 8044, and 8051 series all have the same instruction set I believe)
